Since the time of R. Miller and R.R. Macintosh in 1943, the laryngoscope has
become one of the most useful and successful medical devices available to today’s
anaesthetist.
Timesco supply over 80% of the U.K’s laryngoscopes and have a brand portfolio
unequalled anywhere else in the world. In 2005, we won a Thames Gateway Business
Innovation Award for the concept and design of our single patient use Europa standard
laryngoscope blades.
This award complemented clinical findings previously published in the British
Journal of Anaesthesia¹.
We are continuously developing our range of laryngoscope systems with both engineering
and scientific rigor; working with technicians and clinicians in bringing new
laryngoscope innovations to the market. In 2007 we began collaborating with RAPRA
(The Rubber and Plastics Research Association), a government approved engineering test
laboratory.
Research is as much a part of our business as our marketing, we put a specific focus
on investment which drives creativity and develops the new products of tomorrow.
We have recently modified our single patient use Callisto fibre optic laryngoscope
blades to be ‘no touch’; developing the block so that when the blade is not engaged it
will not touch the handle. We have introduced the new Optima CLX reusable laryngoscope
range which has a removable core that can be ‘clicked’ in and out.
In addition to selling laryngoscope blades we also sell a range of other
anaesthetic products including a range of Clarus Optical Stylets, Bougies,
E.T Tubes, Intubation Forceps, Nasopharyngeal Airways and Suction
Catheters.
